SWEDISH COOPERATIVE CENTRE

The Swedish Cooperative Centre, SCC, was created by the Swedish Cooperative Movement in 1958. Through long-term development work and “help to self-help” we equip poor people with the tools needed to fight poverty themselves. Through advocacy work we strive to convince more people to take stand for a world free from poverty and injustice. Our projects are financed through fundraising and by Sida, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.

Anneli Rogeman new CEO of the Swedish Cooperative Centre and Vi Agroforestry

Anneli Rogeman, who is currently the CEO and Editor in Chief of the magazine Tidningen Vi, has been appointed as the new CEO of the Swedish non-governmental organisations, the Swedish Cooperative Centre and the Vi Agroforestry. She will assume the post on 1 January 2011.

Fresh start for housing cooperatives in Zimbabwe

In Ruwa, a suburb outside the Zimbabwean capital Harare, there is a sense of optimism in the air. The housing cooperative Kumboyedza is putting up several houses simultaneously. They are spacious, sturdy houses, each with five rooms, on a 300 square metre plot.
