HIV and AIDS

A challenge we must take up

HIV and AIDS is affecting our development work negatively and sometimes – done in the wrong way – our development work can even put people at risk of getting infected with HIV. Done in a good way however – development work is presenting a variety of powerful options to take up the challenge of reducing the effects of the pandemic. That’s why it is very important to always "put on" HIV and AIDS lenses while doing development work.

With "Putting on the right lenses" we want to share our experiences in HIV and AIDS mainstreaming in Eastern Africa – both within our own organisation and together with our partners – with you. The stories were gathered in October 2008 in projects done together with our partners Uganda Cooperative Alliance and Cooperative College of Kenya and in SCC & Vi projects in Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya.
